About Us

In an age of cookie-cutter, assembly line, check-box health care often managed by large health care systems and conglomerates, and also limited by insurance constraints and reimbursements, many patients find value in the quality and attention that truly independent private practices can provide.

Psychological and neuropsychological evaluations often will be referred to for years to come and can come into play in a variety of educational, legal, and occupational settings. Since it represents a summary of an individual's personality, character, skills, and challenges we believe it is important to be thorough.

Dr. Bordini graduated from Boston College as a Scholar of the College and has been part of the Gainesville community since moving to Gainesville in 1979 for his doctoral graduate training in Clinical and Health Psychology with a minor in Neuropsychology from the University of Florida. Graduate training in the Shands Teaching Hospital Setting inlcuded practicums in child and adult psychotherapy, advanced practicums in pediatric and adult neuropsychology, addictions, and two advanced practicums in medical psychology.  Dr. Bordini's training included internship rotations in the VAMC mental hygiene, neurology, psychiatry, and addictions services during his graduate and internship years.

Dr. Bordini's forensic experience includes his doctoral research in psychological test and other predictors of violence in psychiatric forensic facility and evaluations of individuals incompetent to stand trial or not guilty by reason of insanity at North Florida Evaluation and Treatment Center.  He is a recipient of the Molly Harrower Award for diagnostic excellence from the University of Florida.

He has conducted child and adult neuropsychological evaluations at adult and child psychiatric hospitals in the Gainesville and Ocala area and served as the first president of the Florida Psychological Association Neuropsychology Interest Division, as FPA insurance and Practice chair, and served on the FPA Board of Directors and Legislative Committee. Dr. Bordini was awarded the title of Distinguished Psychologist by the Florida Psychological Association.
